It all began on Hinge — because obviously, true love in the 21st century starts with a swipe and at least one questionable profile prompt. Samantha had just returned from a brief, soul-searching (and possibly sanity-testing) season living alone in downtown Indianapolis. She was ready for warmer weather, a fresh start, and someone who didn’t disappear mid-conversation.
Enter Vincent.
Their first date was at Kilted Mermaid, a cozy fondue spot in Vero Beach known for its quirky charm. Samantha arrived hopeful. Vincent arrived… in flip-flops, a white V-neck tank top, and hair doing its own thing. Samantha thought, “Oh no. Absolutely not.”
But she sat down anyway — maybe this was just one of those “laid-back Florida man” situations. Then came the surprise twist: when she asked if he was hungry (having skipped meals for optimal fondue commitment), Vincent casually said, “Nah, I already ate.”
Romance was in the air.
And also confusion.
At the end of the night, Samantha asked where he parked. Vincent replied, “Oh, I Ubered.” Because nothing says trust me, I’m future husband material quite like showing up to a first date barefoot-adjacent and without a vehicle.
And yet… something about him felt easy. Safe. Kind. Real.
So they went on another date. And another. And somewhere in the laughter, the late-night talks, the small moments, and the unexpected softness — they fell in love.
Not long after, Vincent took a guys’ trip to Glacier National Park — completely unaware he’d one day live there with the woman who almost rejected him over footwear.
Fast forward through cross-country moves, new jobs, new dreams, growth, chaos, healing, and building a life one imperfect, beautiful day at a time. Vincent has been steady, supportive, patient, and loyal. Samantha has brought joy, energy, vision, and love. They balance each other — always finding their way back to each other.
Today, they are raising a beautiful daughter, growing a family, and building a life full of laughter, gentle moments, and love that keeps deepening.
It all started with a questionable outfit, a late-night fondue spot, and the quiet, unmistakable feeling that this just might be forever.
